It’s more important that you understand that SEO has to be kept fresh. In other words, you can’t just get your site to the top of the first page and then quit. The internet is constantly changing and there is always someone out there trying to get on top. So you have to keep posting links and information out in “cyberworld” so the search engines see there is still a current interest in your web site.
The process of getting a web site listed on the first page is a time consuming task. We can’t just post 1000 backlinks in cyberworld and then stop. We want the search engines to think that a site we are promoting is popular because the links have “organically” grown so we trickle out backlinks in a inconsistently consistent fashion. We don’t just post those backlinks on 4 or 5 sites, we have over 10,000 sites, in a wide range of locations, that we post them on. We don’t want to do anything that may cause the search engines to think the backlinks are unnatural. The 10,000 sites that I’m talking about are blogs and we post comments on those blogs with backlinks in them. The backlink is not just your web address in the middle of a sentence, a backlink is typically a keyword that displays as a link, that contains the address to your site. Your web site address in a keyword, like shown above, is known as an “anchor text link” which is more relevant to the search engines than just having your web address there.
Posting articles on ezine (web magazine) sites is another type of site we create backlinks on, increase interest and drive traffic to your site. The links help with the popularity, but we will post the article on a “relevant” ezine site to drive traffic right to your site too. A relevant site is one that pertains to your product or service, i.e. we will post an article about fishing tackle on a sport fishing ezine. So when someone visits the ezine, reads the article and then goes to your site to learn more. Getting traffic from an ezine is a benefit but the popularity your site gets from having a backlink on an ezine also help push it up on the first page of the web searches, which is our main goal.
Another powerful tool we use to make your site more popular is video. We will do a “video syndication” which is the process of posting a video or multiple videos on the 80+ web sites. YouTube.com is not the only video posting site. YouTube alone has MILLIONS of searches every month by people looking for information and products. Again we will post the videos with relative keywords and backlinks to get traffic and of course increase your site’s popularity and position in the web searches.
Many SEO service providers list Registering your site as one of the tasks they do to optimize it. We want the search engines to find you organically. It actually only takes about a10 seconds to register a site so it’s not like it’s a time consuming, work intensive thing to do, anyone can register a site with a search engine.
Site maps, site maps are good for people to have to navigate around a site but there is no need to generate one to improve you optimization. The search engine will “crawl” thru your site to see what content you have. The crawling is an automated process the search engines use to look thru site and index or list the pages and the content on the page. then is uses that info when it displays the results of a web search.
We can use any one of the methods above or a combination of all of them to get your site listed on the first page of the searches. Depending on the number of sites you are competing with and the size of the area you want to reach can determine how quickly your site is listed at the top of the first page of the web searches. A little advise, if an SEO service guarantees to get you listed first in a web search, turn and run! Unless they own the search engine they have no control of the first position.
My personal touch - I’m sure you are thinking, “why do I need to use Dan when I can go straight to John to get the same service”. I’ll tell you what I do for my customers, I look at the areas of your website that the search engines look at and optimize them to work hand-in-hand with the work that John does, I also add additional information so your site can be found with searches that are done for keywords other than the keywords that are optimized.
- I will make recommendations for the title and descriptions of pages, those are what displays in the search listings, we want inciting information there that will draw web searchers to click on your link instead of the competition’s.
- I stay in touch with my customers and listen for changes that occur in their businesses. If I hear something that would be attractive to potential customers I will recommend that change be added to the information on their website.
- I will help you setup a Google Places listing to look at your current listing and make recommendations to improve it.
If we just did SEO we would stop at getting visitors to you site, but we work hard to get those visitors there so it is important that they don’t leave without connecting to you, I can show you how do keep those potential customers and be able to turn them into customers at a later time.
